Overview:
The One Spot Foxface, also known as the Blotched Foxface, is a graceful and uniquely patterned rabbitfish distinguished by a prominent dark eyespot near the rear of its body. This spot varies in shape among individuals, ranging from a near-perfect circle to an abstract blotch, giving each fish a distinct appearance. It is nearly identical to the Foxface Lo (Siganus vulpinus), with the spot being the main distinguishing feature.
This species is peaceful and adapts well to community aquariums, though it may display territorial behavior toward other rabbitfish. Its venomous dorsal spines provide natural defense, allowing it to coexist with more aggressive tank mates. Best kept in aquariums of 70 gallons or more, the One Spot Foxface thrives on a diet rich in vegetable matter and marine algae. If underfed, it may occasionally nip at soft or LPS corals, so a consistent feeding schedule is essential for reef systems.
