Aquarium
Maintenance

Why hire an aquarium maintenance company?

A Few Reasons Why...
Avoid Risk

(i.e. Green Water, Algae Blooms)

Early issue detection keeps parameters stable & prevents crashes, pests, or equipment failures before they spiral. Small issues get caught before they become costly problems.

Reduce Downtime

(i.e. Tank Crash, System Restart)

Scheduled visits create reliable stability.  Preventive maintenance beats last-minute rescues. A predictable cadence with proactive fixes keeps your tank clear & on-spec.

Skip the Mess

(i.e. Skimmer Flood, Water Spills)

Leave the buckets, hoses, & salt mix to the professionals. Reclaim your evenings & weekends - spend time appreciating your tank, not servicing or fixing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common FAQ's about our aquarium maintenance services.

The ideal maintenance schedule depends on your system type, bioload, and desired level of involvement. Fish-only aquariums can typically be serviced bi-weekly, while coral reef systems perform best with weekly visits to ensure stability and growth. Clients who prefer to participate in light upkeep between visits often choose our Essential Plan, while our Premium Plan is designed for a more hands-off experience - requiring only daily feeding, which we’ll guide you through step by step.

Yes - we can assist with both emergency and non-emergency equipment issues. If a critical life-support component fails, such as a return pump or controller system, it’s treated as an emergency service and prioritized immediately to protect your livestock. For non-critical equipment, such as a broken light or accessory, we’ll help you handle warranty replacements or source a new part so your setup stays running smoothly.

A typical maintenance visit takes about 45–60 minutes, depending on the size of the system and the services required. Clients are welcome to be on-site during the visit, but it’s not necessary - our team can perform maintenance independently if preferred. For business or commercial clients, we also offer scheduling during specific hours to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted operation.

No problem at all - cancellations or reschedules are completely acceptable and can be arranged for the next available date that best fits your schedule. There are no cancellation fees for our aquarium maintenance services. If Tidalwave Aquatics ever needs to adjust your appointment, we’ll contact you promptly and ensure you’re rescheduled at the next earliest opening.

Absolutely. You can change your plan whenever your aquarium’s needs shift - whether you want more frequent visits or prefer a lighter schedule. Just let us know before your next visit, and we’ll adjust your plan and billing accordingly to keep things running seamlessly.

Absolutely.  We handle the setup and optimization of dosing systems, ATOs, and controllers as part of our equipment installation service. Once set up, these systems can be included in your ongoing maintenance plan, though service pricing may be adjusted to reflect the added complexity of upkeep and calibration.
